About our School School Overview
The School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering at UNSW provides a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Chemistry. Both degrees are four year full-time programs degrees accredited by the Institution of Engineers Australia; the BE in Chemical Engineering is also accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK). *** Combined degrees are also available for suitably qualified students. The BE BSc (Computer Science) provides accredited degrees in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry plus professional skills in computing. Combined programs Chemical Engineering/ Bachelor of Arts (3043) and Industrial Chemistry/ Bachelor of Arts (3103) are also available and allow students to combine their professionally accredited Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry degree with their choice of an Arts major. The School offers a fast-track program over 4.5 years full-time, the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering Science (BE MEngSc), which allows flexibility of choice between formal coursework and project work. The concurrent degree program BE MBiomedE allows advanced standing in the Masters of Biomedical Engineering. The School also offers Food Science and Technology programs. Food Science is a profession that builds on fundamental knowledge and leading edge developments in sciences such as chemistry,microbiology, biochemistry, and biotechnology to optimise the quality and safety of foods through appropriate processing and packaging for a wide variety of food markets, both national and international.
