Student-Staff Meeting Minutes TRG Meeting
The Teaching Reference Group exists to discuss issues in teaching and learning within the school and, where possible, make school policy recommendations to the Head of School. Issues of a more significant or potentially controversial nature are brought to the School Staff meeting after discussion within the TRG. The TRG is composed of those academics with administrative teaching resposibilities within the school, plus any others who may be interested. The administrative roles in teaching currently include: Director of Teaching and Learning (TRG chair - Graeme Bushell) Undergraduate Research Coordinator (Phillip Crisp) Program authority (postgrduate coursework - Jayashree Arcot) Program authority (FOOD programs - Alice Lee) Program authority (CE and IC programs - Tuan Pham) Academic advisor (FOOD programs - Robert Driscoll) Academic advisor (CE and IC programs - Frank Lucien) Teaching Quality and Student Experience Authority (Julian cox) Results and Progression Analyst (Tuan Pham) Vanessa Moore Rahul Bajoria Soji Adesina Issues resolved in the recent past include: - implementation of modifications to first year camp to encourage attendance as part of ENGG1000 - development of school policy on UF grades and supplementary examination for multiple pass criteria courses - implementation of scaling within CE and IC electives as a way of addressing honours creep - revision of FOOD programs structure - implementation of a program in Food Process Engineering Issues currently on the agenda include: - continued monitoring of honours grades - identification of teaching improvement projects - pilot for implementation of distance mode teaching - revision of school workload model - revisions to postgraduate and undergraduate programs to reduce timetabling and administrative complexity Minutes of the Teaching Reference Group 2007
